Background

With the cancellation of its daytime lifestyle show, Crown Media needed a new way to monetize the show’s digital microsite in order to continue generating sales opportunities and maintaining traffic-driving content.

Solution

Transition the current microsite into a new digital lifestyle property. The new property is rich in sponsorship opportunities and contains editorial content created in-house.  An extensive SEO plan is being incorporated to drive traffic and increase the discoverability of exclusive content.

Results
  • Generated interest from potential sponsors, even in the early stages.
  • Led to the Crown Media marketing department meeting refresh into a more efficient and impactful status update and editorial collaboration.

Background

Charter Spectrum needed a way to broadcast a VOD barker video across the  footprint of the entire organization in a more streamlined and simplified manner.

Solution

Created a system of dual VMs and scripts to process the barker files and stream them via Multicast. The scripts monitor which server is streaming and have multiple verification steps to ensure the other server isn’t streaming the barker.

Results
  • Enabled Charter Spectrum to get rid of old hardware that was streaming the barker locally in different headends.
  • Produced better and simpler support by having the barker streamed redundantly.
  • Freed up local resources to allow for more video bandwidth on the QAM network.
  • Resulted in an individual and Charter Spectrum patent.
